2. Anderby Creek, Lincolnshire – A hidden gem on the Lincolnshire coastline, without the overdevelopment and bustling crowds of nearby Skegness pr Mablethorpe. Anderby Creek is a highly accessible beach and perfect for families, dogs, and those with mobility issues, with no steep climbs to reach the seafront from the carpark.
3. West Wittering, South Downs – Recently voted the best beach in the UK, West Wittering boasts a sloping, sandy beach within a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a café. There’s even a kitesurfing club!
4. Sandwood Bay, Kinlochbervie – Regarded by many as one of the best (and cleanest) beaches in the British Isles, Sandwood Bay is perhaps one of Scotland’s best kept secrets, unsurprisingly as there’s no road access. Getting to the beach requires a four-mile walk from the car park in Blairmore – perfect if you’re on a road trip or feeling particularly adventurous.
5. Fistral Beach, Cornwall – Now, if you’re looking for a quiet day by the beach, then Fistral probably won’t be your cup of tea due to the crowds that frequent this hugely popular tourist destination. It’s a must-visit beach for adventurers, adrenalin junkies and keen surfers, so if that’s you, be sure to add it to your list this summer. Plus, it’s dog friendly!
6. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door – We couldn’t leave out the Jurassic Coast! Perfect for little explorers and dramatic views, a trip to the here is guaranteed to be thrilling, as you search for ancient ammonites and pre-historic relics in the rockface.
