Armed Forces Day - 75 days to go
Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June and this year it will take place on Saturday 30 June. Today marks just 75 days to go!
Armed Forces Day celebrations begin on Monday 25 June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country. Reserves Day on 27 June will also provide an opportunity for the country to recognise our Reserve Forces.
The National Armed Forces Day Event this year will be held in Llandudno, North Wales, though as usual local events will be taking place across the country. You can search or add your local event on the Armed Forces Day website at https://www.armedforcesday.org.uk/find-events/.
On the 30 June, a parade of around 1,000 serving personnel, veterans, cadets and marching bands will step off from the Llandudno War Memorial at 11am to signal the start of the Armed Forces Day celebrations. The parade, which promises to be an impressive display of both sound and colour, will then march down the road adjacent to the promenade, culminating in a salute to a number of special guests and dignitaries outside Venue Cymru. If you are a Veteran and you would like to be involved in the National AFD Parade then you can visit http://bit.ly/2zI9Eim and fill in the form online or via the post.
